Well, I am such a slacker when it comes to blogging about the kids. I really do want to keep all of you up to date on them, it's just been crazy.
As we all know, kids grow up fast. Way too fast. Mine are no exception. Camden is now 4 1/2 years old and just continues to amaze Mike and I. He reads. I mean he reads books, signs, commercials on TV. It does not matter what it is, when he sees something he knows he reads it to us. Just the other day we were at an intersection near Wal-Mart. He said "Open 24 Hours". I just replied with a "Yes, they are open 24 hours". He said "No, the sign says they are open 24 hours". Mike and I both had to look hard to find the sign, but sure enough we did. It was a small sign just under a couple of other small signs beneath the main Wal-Mart sign. We didn't even see it right away, how did he? Amazing. Simple, but amazing. He does that kind of thing all the time. Most easy readers he read completely on his on and some pictures books as well. If he needs help he asks, but insists on trying to read it all by himself.
Camden is also writing more. He uses his "doodle board" as we call it. It is just a fancy looking magna-doodle. Any way, he writes words he knows already how to spell. He gets so excited and shows us the words once he has finished. It is a great way to practice his spelling and his writing and it was something he came up with all on his own!
Camden recently had a check-up with our family doctor, Dr. Ucchino. Camden is right where he should be on the charts. He is 40 inches tall and 38 pounds. It's so hard to believe! I remember him being just 7 pounds! His next check-up will be next year before school. Seems impossible to be thinking about school already!!
Merci, wow! That is about all I can think to say! HA! No, really she is an amazing little girl but she is so full of energy and attitude. She gives off this false impression that she is quiet and shy when she is the complete opposite! She is very trying at times. I love the challenge because I just love her so much! It amazes me how you can go from being completely frustrated and at the end of your rope to the next minute having your heart melted by a smile so bright and a silly little laugh that wipes all the frustration away. Her determination is great. She is able to figure things out just by sitting back and watching when you don't even know it.
Merci tries to talk but most of what she says is in her own little language. She "talks" a lot and Camden translates most times. She has said Daddy, Mama, Baby, and Uh-Oh all of which she says only when she wants to. She too, just had a check up with Dr. Ucchino and is doing great. She now weighs 23 pounds and is 29 1/2 inches long. She is a petite little thing. Small and mighty I say!
I will be posting another post later today with some pictures I recently took of them. I hope you all can forgive my being a slacker. I hope to get back on track. Until next time...all of our love to you.
